Boomin' Granny

If somebody were to bump into Martha Cooper in the street, and had no idea what she is all about, it would probably come as a great surprise to find out that this 71 year old lady is considered something like the godmother of street art photography in New York City for at least 2 decades back in the 70's and the 80's. Besides documenting the work of various graffiti artists around the city, Cooper also put together other different books including the famous Hip Hop Files: Photographs 1979-1984, with that distinct cover picture of a kid holding a boombox with two spray cans on top of it, which im sure some of you might have seen before
